Convert Monzo bank statements to Excel or CSV
You need your Monzo transactions in a spreadsheet, for your accountant, a Self Assessment return, a mortgage application or your own bookkeeping. Monzo already offers CSV and QIF downloads, but sometimes all you have is the PDF statement. This page shows where to find each file, what to watch for in Monzo's layout, and how to get the PDF into Excel or CSV.

How to download your Monzo statements
On the website
- Monzo's help pages describe getting personal and joint account statements in the app, so use the app steps if you have a personal account.
- If you have a Monzo Business account, sign in to Monzo Business on the web. Monzo says the web version lets you download statements as CSV, QIF or PDF.
- Open the statements option and choose the date range you need.
- Pick PDF for an official statement, or CSV or QIF if you only need the transaction data, then download the file.
In the mobile app
- Open the Monzo app and tap Home.
- Personal or joint account: tap the three dots under your card. Business account: tap Manage next to your transaction feed.
- Tap Bank statements.
- Choose the date range, then pick PDF, CSV or QIF and download.
Monzo lets you pick a date range for each statement but doesn't publish a fixed limit on how far back you can go. Savings Pot statements are separate: open the Pot, tap Pot documents, then Pot statement. For a closed UK account, use the form at monzo.com/closed-account-statements; Monzo emails the statement as a password-protected file and sends the password separately.
Menu names change from time to time. If a step doesn't match, look for Statements or Documents in your account menu.

If you still have access to the account and only need the data, Monzo's CSV is the quickest route. Convert the PDF when the PDF is all you have, for example a statement emailed after an account was closed or one a client sent you, or when you need the rows to match an official statement exactly.
What Monzo statements look like
- Amounts usually appear in a single column, with money out shown as negative numbers, rather than in separate Money in and Money out columns. Monzo customers have asked Monzo for separate columns on PDF statements.
- Moving money into or out of a Pot shows up as a transaction on your main account, so in a spreadsheet it can look like spending or income unless you label it as a transfer.
- Savings Pot statements are separate documents from the main account statement, so a full picture may need more than one file.
- Personal, joint and business accounts each have their own statements. Business statements are downloaded from the business account, not your personal one.
Tips for converting Monzo statements
- Tag Pot transfers as internal transfers in your spreadsheet or accounting software so they don't inflate your income and expenses.
- If you're converting a statement from a closed account, open it with the password Monzo sent you and save an unprotected copy before uploading it to a converter.
- After converting, compare the first and last balances in your spreadsheet with the balances printed on the statement. If they don't match, a row is missing or a sign is wrong.

Monzo statement questions
Can I download Monzo statements as Excel?
Not as an .xlsx file directly, but the Bank statements screen in the app offers CSV, which opens in Excel. If you only have the PDF statement, you need to convert it.
Can I get Monzo statements on a computer?
Monzo Business accounts can download statements as CSV, QIF or PDF on the web. Monzo's help pages describe personal account statements being downloaded in the app; you can then send the file to your computer.
How far back can I get Monzo statements?
Monzo lets you choose a date range in the app but doesn't publish a maximum. If you can't find the period you need, contact Monzo support in the app.
How do I get a statement for a closed Monzo account?
Use Monzo's closed account statement form for UK accounts. You'll need the details used on the account and a selfie with ID or a dated note, and Monzo emails a password-protected statement.
Are Monzo PDF statements accepted for mortgages and visas?
Monzo says its statements are original documents, so you generally don't need them stamped or signed. If a lender or embassy insists, Monzo support can arrange a stamped or posted copy.
