Convert Wise statements to Excel or CSV

If you get paid or pay suppliers through Wise, your transactions sit in separate currency balances and jars, and your accountant or tax software needs them as rows in a spreadsheet. Wise has more export formats than most banks, but each statement is limited to 365 days and the PDF layout has a few surprises. This page explains how to download each format and how to convert a Wise PDF statement when that's the file you have.

How to download your Wise statements

On the website

  1. Sign in to Wise and click your initials in the top corner.
  2. Select Statements and reports, then Statements. You can also open a single currency or jar, click the three dots in the top-right corner and choose Statements and reports.
  3. Select Create a statement.
  4. Choose the currencies or jars, the time period (up to 365 days), the file format and the language.
  5. Generate the statement and download it. Statements you create appear in the Custom tab, and large multi-currency requests may arrive as a zip file or an emailed download link.

In the mobile app

  1. Open a currency or jar, or tap your initials.
  2. Go to Statements and reports, then Statements.
  3. Create a statement and choose the currencies, period and format. The app offers PDF, CSV or XLSX.
  4. Download or share the file.

Each statement can cover at most 365 days, so for a longer period create several statements back to back. Wise's help pages don't state how far back you can go. If you need an official copy, tick Stamp and sign this document at the bottom of the statements screen; you may need to verify your address first.

Menu names change from time to time. If a step doesn't match, look for Statements or Documents in your account menu.

What Wise statements look like

  • Statements are per currency balance. A conversion between your own balances shows as money out in one currency's statement and money in on the other.
  • Recent Wise PDF statements usually have Description, Incoming, Outgoing and Amount columns, with the transaction date printed inside the description text rather than in its own column.
  • Column headers, dates and number formats follow the language you choose for the statement, so a statement generated in Spanish or German will use different date wording and decimal separators.
  • Long descriptions often wrap onto several lines, and fees can either be included in the transaction or shown separately, depending on the option you tick when creating the statement.
  • Statements only list activity through your Wise balances. Transfers you funded directly from a bank card or another bank account appear in the transfer list instead.

Tips for converting Wise statements

  • Generate statements in English if you'll convert them, so dates and amounts follow one consistent format across all your files.
  • Use the same fee setting for every period you export, otherwise some files will have fees as separate rows and others won't.
  • When you combine several currency statements, keep a Currency column and treat conversions between your own balances as transfers.

Every extracted row sits next to the page it came from, and the totals are checked against the opening and closing balances printed on the statement. This example uses made-up data, not a real Wise statement.
