How to download your Wells Fargo statements
On the website
- Sign on to Wells Fargo Online.
- Open "Statements & Documents".
- Choose the account and the statement period.
- Open the statement and save it with a .pdf extension. Your browser may download it automatically, so check your downloads folder.
- Repeat for each month; Wells Fargo lets you select only one statement at a time.
In the mobile app
- Sign on to the Wells Fargo Mobile app.
- Open the menu and look for the statements and documents section (labels can vary by app version).
- Choose the account and the statement period; the statement opens as a PDF you can save or share.
How far back depends on the product: up to 7 years for deposit accounts such as checking and savings, up to 2 years for credit cards, home equity lines and personal loans, and up to 12 months for auto loans. Viewing statements online is free. For statements that are not available online, contact Wells Fargo customer service. After an account is closed, statements may stay available online for only about 90 days, so save them before then.
Menu names change from time to time. If a step doesn't match, look for Statements or Documents in your account menu.

Download Account Activity is fine for recent months. For anything older, for closed accounts, or when your figures must match a statement page by page, convert the PDF statements.
What Wells Fargo statements look like
- Checking statements list activity in a single "Transaction history" table, with separate Deposits/Additions and Withdrawals/Subtractions columns instead of one signed amount column.
- There is a Check Number column in the same table, so checks appear in date order with other activity rather than in a separate section.
- The balance column is an "Ending daily balance": it is shown once for each day with activity, not on every transaction line.
- Combined statements for linked accounts, and Prime or Premier Checking statements, can show several accounts in one document, with detailed or summary information depending on the linked accounts.
- Credit card statements are kept online for only 2 years, compared with 7 years for checking and savings.
Tips for converting Wells Fargo statements
- Because the ending daily balance appears only on the last line of each day, don't expect a balance on every row. Check that each day's closing balance matches after converting.
- If you have a combined statement, split it by account before importing so each account's transactions go to the right ledger.
- Download credit card statements regularly: with a 2-year online limit, older card statements have to be requested from Wells Fargo.
